Almost There!

Well, after 6+ hours of editing, including coming in on the Saturday after our studio recording in order to get started straight away, our final version of the production was completed last night!

The exported version was sent to Emily who suggested some minor adjustments, and then a re-exported version was finished late last night. This still may yet be subject to change – there’s something about the background ambiance that is bugging me, but apart from that the version we have is ready for submission.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to all that have helped us over the last four weeks in order for our drama to come together so efficiently and effective as it has!

So I promise to upload an mp3 of our audio production soon for you all to have a listen, but for now myself and Emily need to concentrate on completing our production paperwork and essays!

Again, a massive thank you to all of you out there!

Finally!

After a few attempts, I am finally logged into the In Memoriam blogsite! Just to introduce myself, I am Emily Pheby and I have been directing our radio drama. The production of this piece up until now has been a complete success! I am extremely touched by the response I have had in regards to actors interest. With a range of actors responding to my advertisements, from Birmingham to Australia!! I am overwhelmed. I have responded to all messages, unfortunately I couldn’t cast all of you but with consent from all parties I have been able to keep contact details on file for future productions! Fantastically helpful!

Editing is in process, Jemma shall keep you informed however I can tell you now, so far so good!

Now just to tie up loose ends and hand in with a big smile on our faces.
In Memoriam has been a great eye opener into the world of radio! I cannot wait to carry on exploring!

A Day in the Studio!

Today myself and Emily have been extremely busy. We booked out four hours in the radio studio today, 11am – 1pm and then again 3-5pm. Thankfully, being so busy has paid off! All of our actors have had the audio recorded, and we’re ready to begin a rough edit.

Both times we had to set up a stereo microphone pair, and adjust the levels to each actor. Emily also had to direct the actors to get the sound we wanted. Thankfully, there were few problems. The ones we had were:

– Having the wrong microphone holder and having to swap it.

– Putting the microphone jack in port ‘1’ and not getting any sound.

– A slight issue with Audition during recordings.

However, all these problems were quickly fixed, and we managed to finish with all the actors in one day.

A massive thank you to our actors then:  Tony Fielding-Raby, Honor Grantham, Andrew Whitlam and Glen Dolan, for being so wonderfully efficient and patient with us!

Tomorrow I shall begin the editing process!
